The HUB

Closure of The HUB

Due to the Covid restrictions, Steeton with Eastburn Parish Council have taken the difficult decision that the HUB should stay closed to the public until the new year at the very earliest. The welfare of the users is of utmost concern to the Parish Council and it is simply not feasible from either a safeguarding or financial point of view to make the building Covid-secure.

Many apologies to all our regular users for the inconvenience.

The building is currently being used on a part-time basis by an AGH nursing team, who have been using the building to train overseas nurses in Covid-19 nursing, and are following all regulations and risk assessments necessary. This use provides the Parish Council with an opportunity to support the local hospital during the crisis, as well as ensures that the building is not lying empty for months on end.

For further information on the safe opening of community buildings, please see https://acre.org.uk/rural-issues/providing-advice-and-guidance-to-help-groups.php

In normal times, The HUB is suitable for use by local organisations for meetings or events, for private children's parties or for businesses to use for meetings or training.

Bookings: cost, calendar and booking form

The cost for community groups is £1 per user per session (where a session is a morning, afternoon or evening). There is a flat rate charge of £25 for children's birthday parties and businesses are charged £30 per session (£60 per day). A returnable damage deposit of £45 is also payable. Payment should be made upon booking: please note that bookings will only be confirmed once payment has been received.

Please see the bookings calendar to check availability. There are three rooms at The HUB, Orange, Green and Blue. Orange and Blue rooms can be joined to form one larger room. If a booking is shown on the bookings calendar that does not always mean that the whole building is in use, you may still be able to have your event in another room.

The annual HUB Fire Safety Risk Assessment can be seen below:
