What is Neighbourhood policing?

Neighbourhood policing is about providing the local community with a dedicated and accountable team with local ownership. This will be achieved through three directed objectives:
1. They will conduct their day to day work through intelligence-led targeting of the problems that matter most to the public.
2. This will be achieved through joint action by police, partner agencies and the public.
3. The NPT will endeavour to reduce crime and the fear of crime throughout the area by specific actions in your village and town. (See News Roundup for examples as they happen.)

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team NPT can be contacted on 01274 475301

Officers may be out on patrol and unable to take your call . Please leave a message in order that someone can call you back. To contact the main police switchboard for non-urgent enquiries, ring 101.

In an emergency always dial 999
