Joint Transport Working Group
Transport Issues: A joint working party has been set up with Silsden Town Council to discuss transpost issues, including car parking and disabled access at Steeton and Silsden Railway Station.
A survey of users of Steeton and Silsden railway station has been carried out and the report is available to download.
A successful bid has been submitted to the LEADER initiative for £10,000 to complete the funding to enable the footpath to be constructed between the bridge and the access path to the Leeds bound platform.
Councillor Mallinson updated the parish council on progress made by the Joint Transport Working Group at the March 2009 parish council meeting:
Junction improvements planned including dropped kerbs and anti-skid surfaces.
Vehicle access will be stopped by erecting new barriers
The Armco barrier will be moved back and a new footpath constructed.
A one-way road system is proposed using the access road through the woodyard.
